Long Overdue Update
Oi. People probably don't even read this, but whatever. It's now been two years since I last posted here. Started in Xanga, migrated to MySpace, tried here for a bit, migrated from MySpace to Facebook, and now... well, my Facebook's the most active of the lot.
But I do rather miss the blogginess of here & Xanga & MySpace; Facebook doesn't really have that (there's Notes, but blogging isn't the main function). I've got a LiveJournal, too, but I tend to use my account more for joining communities rather than doing any blogging.
Anyway, I hope to update this blog further very soon. Just within the last week or so, I have fallen fast and deep for the absolutely AMAZING show that is "Doctor Who." Brilliant, gorgeous show. I can't believe I'm just now really getting into it.
I've always considered myself a "Death Viewer"--a person who tends to enter a fandom either of an off-air show that didn't last long, or enter a fandom of a new/er show and it only lasts a couple seasons.
Only shows I've eagerly devoured that lasted longer than five seasons would be Stargate SG-1, Touched By An Angel, Perfect Strangers, and, not quite as religiously, M*A*S*H. Though... actually, House MD is about to go into its sixth season, so... YAY!
"Doctor Who," though, has over two decades worth of stuff to see. It'll take me FOREVER to get through it all. I mean, sure, I'll have managed to ingest the entirety of the "nuWho"--all four seasons (plus specials, mini-episodes, Tardisodes, and Comic Relief sketches--thank you, YouTube!)--within the space of a WEEK. This show is ADDICTING.
But, I think I'll probably slow considerably when I get around to the older stuff. Firstly, it's not all as available to view as the new stuff. Secondly, well... David Tennant is "my" Doctor--he was my first--and I really don't know if I'll get through the other stuff as eagerly as the "nuWho."
And by the way, I am most CERTAINLY going to be adding David Tennant to my list of favorite actors, because damned if that guy ain't one of the best actors out there currently. And, to top it all off, he seems to be yet the newest in my long line of favorites that happen to be Scottish.
That brogue is just... swoon-worthy.
Okay, well, that's 'nuff for now.
'Til Next Post,
~ "Becky" Joy Helvie ~
